Upgrade to DebianJessie
lxjessie64.gsi.de cluster is available.
As of 12/2017 Jessie desktops are the default desktops. DebianStretch desktops are still in preparation.
If you are directly upgrading from DebianSqueeze please also take a look the the WheezyUpgrade notes.
Application-specific notes
gtklp gone
The generic printer GUI gtklp is not available for Jessie anymore. No alternative exists at the moment.
Iceweasel and Icedove
After Debian and Mozilla settled their dispute on distributing Mozilla's apps, Iceweasel and Icedove will be shipped as Firefox and Thunderbird, starting with the next ESR (Extended Support Release) update cycle.VidyoDesktop crashes
The current version of VidyoDesktop as distributed by Cern starts on Jessie but crashes when joining a conference.
