PDUs

  • PDUs are arranged in 3 lines (phases, each can deliver up to 32 Ampere=7.4 kW) á 2 groups (A+D,B+E,C+F) with 4 outlets each. Each group can deliver 3.7 kW.
  • A PDU is able to handle 230 Volt * 3 * 32 Ampere = 22.1kW (PDRs limit: 280 kW per rack row > do not deliver =22.1kW * 16 racks = 354 kW)

Temperature Thresholds

Temperature thresholds servers

  • Temperature thresholds have been derived from Minicube + Greencube tests and experiences.
  • The following values should be set in the servers' BMCs:

Temperature Warn Graceful Shutdown Cut-off
Batch Nodes 45°C 48°C 50°C
File Server 48°C 53°C 55°C

PDU Thresholds

  • The rack PDUs measure the temperatures at the rack doors inside and outside.
  • Tests have shown that the following threshold values are compatible with the server thresholds above (thumbs-up the PDUs do not switch off before the servers).
  • These thresolds have been set on all PDUs:

Temperature Warn Cut-off
Rack door outside 40°C 45°C
Rack door inside 55°C 60°C

Humidity Warn Critical
Inside/Outside < 10% < 8%
