redundant IOC which utilizes ATCA (HPI) support -
Artem Kazakov
- KEK/Sokendai
using features of ATCAs
Shelf Manger
to make better decision for fail-over
Shelf Manger
Data is exchanged through redundant IPMB (Intelligent Platform Management Bus)
Redundant IOC
support is in BASE in 3.14.10
just download RIOC libs and link them to your IOC
How?
IOC1 and IOC2 providing the same PVs controlling the same hardware are attached to a shared network
and
share a
private ethernet
within a second control can switch from one active to the passive, if IOC breaks down within 30s
Possible benefits of ATCA-aware RIOC
Failures can be predicted
i.e. temperature rising iniates switch to back-up
RMT - "Redundant Monitor Task" ??
