How to Measure Beam Intensity

Beam Control Program, v. 1.3.0 build 8

Assuming program is running in normal mode (all settings as they should be during experiment time), do the following:

1) From the Beam Control program's menu, select "Meta Data" and enter something appropriate in the "Filename" field (not too long - less than ca. 15 characters). This name will be incorporated in the real filename to which the beam integral data will be written. Close the dialog box with the "Confirm" button.

2) In the TAB Control at the lower half of the program window, push the "Start New File" button when you are ready to start the measurement. The button turns green with the text "Close File".

3) The Integral box which pops up is the integral as it was before the measurement. Close it and/or ignore it.

4) To stop the measurement, clikc the same button again (green, labeled "Close File"). The box with the integral pops up again - it is the measured integral on DT3.

5) In the (on-screen) logbook the integral for both DT2 and DT3 is written. Copy or write it down manually, as the on-screen logbook is NOT written to any file.

The Control Program will now continue writing data to the normal log files automatically.
