Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Cape Town

The Physics Department of the University of Cape Town seeks applications for a permanent position at the level of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, for appointment from 1 February 2007.

The successful candidate will have a PhD degree in Physics (and preferably postdoctoral experience), and will be expected to teach a wide variety of undergraduate courses (including large first-year service courses) with associated laboratories at both entry and upper levels. The appointee will also be expected to develop a strong research and postgraduate supervision programme. Preference will be given to an experimental physicist who strengthens one of the existing research directions of the Department, that is, nuclear, particle and solid state physics.

The annual remuneration packages, including benefits, are: Lecturer - R257 103; Senior Lecturer - R315 536.
