Hans Essel lined out that a discussion stream with all people concerned with FAIR controls should be established. It might be necessary to define recommendations for standards relatively soon, i.e. controls interfaces for FEE which is going to be designed.
What is the goal
- Establish communication between controls activities
- Develop strategies (technical, organizational, management)
- Define deliverables (mainly paper for now: requirements, investigations, standards)
- Define projects and work packages
There were seven presentations giving brief overviews of toolsets of interest like
- Accelerator control systems TANGO, ACS, EPICS
- General purpose controls LabView
- Development systems GME, Eclipse
- DAQ control systems xdaq, RTES, SMI++, SysMES
