How to log integrals and beam intensity to file continuously

The Beam Control program will only write status data (integrals and beam intensities) to file if you have switched on the "Save To Disk" button. You should then get a corresponding "green light".

Notice that meaningful data will only be written if the "Log Data" button is also switched to on. This should give you another "green light". For normal operation during an experiment, all the lights should be green, indicating that everything is set up correctly (no unlit or non-green "LEDs").

The data written to file is in DIAdem format and can be read by the corresponding National Instruments software. A special program to read the files (much quicker than DIAdem) is under development...

PS Please understand that the "Log Data" button do NOT write any data to file on it's own. This button "logs data" in the sense that it starts the data acquisition algorithm, i.e. the program starts to read values of the beam integral counters and display them on the screen. If you want it WRITTEN TO FILE then you MUST switch on the "Save To Disk" button. For historical reasons this is currentliy a bit more complicated than could be wished, it will be changed in a major overhaul of the Beam Monitor and Beam Control programs, but this can not be done before there is a 6-8 week pause between experiments.
