CST Studio

We have several CST Studio licenses. They are paid for by the accelerator physics group. The Name of the license server is bepc076.gsi.de. You can borrow the installation media from Oliver Boine-Frankenheim. If you cannot get a license for the feature you want to use please ask Paul Görgen for help. Sometimes other groups are working with CST and block the license. In this case as a member of the BEPHY-Group you can get priority access to the license.

CST Jobs on the lxir-Farm

We have the possibility of using the lxirxx-farm for CST Studio computation. This is possible both using MPI and distributed computing.
  • Distributed computing is a good thing if your computation eats a lot of ram. The solver servers offer 24 GB of RAM and 8 CPUs each, probably more than your local machine. The solver server is lxir063.gsi.de. You may not be able to use all the CPUs because of license restrictions.
  • MPI is not well tested yet but you could be the lucky first user.
