- KVI will do the NuStar controls, contract signing pending. Very welcome!
- GSI EE/KS will support following Controls System Software:
- LabVIEW and
- something else.
- One favourite is EPICS.
- Another option for the SCADA part could be PVSS
- GSI Accelerator: Favorites are Tango/ACS with CORBA middleware
What do we want to do with these tools?
- Discussion on different control systems and strategies.
- We have to avoid chaos!
- Framework vs. specific solutions
- Potential candidates for control software: 3-4 tools
- TANGO/ACS
- EPICS
- PVSS
- LabVIEW
- ???
- Since some groups are already starting with prototype implementation we should restrict ourselfs to the mentioned systems. During the prototype implementation phase the requirements for the final control system should be collected and published. The groups should be aware that they may have to reimplement their subsystems with the system selected by their collaboration or to interface it.
- Formulate support structure for a few tools. This defines the tools.
