Von der Theorie her sollten alle Firmware / Software-Stände untereinander kompatibel sein.
Lediglich sind neue Funktionalitäten in älteren FW-Ständen nicht vorhanden oder werden nicht vollständig oder fehlerhaft unterstützt.
Als generelle Regel wird empfohlen immer den neusten FW/SW-Stand zu verwenden.
Hinweis: Es ist NICHT vorgesehen, dass ein niedrigerer FW-Stand einen höheren ersetzt.

^*) Firmware Versionen der MFU LE unterliegen nur der alten, zweistelligen Versionnummerkonvention x.y. Sie werden ab Nios 7.2 in der Versionsanzeige auf die dreistellige Versionsnummerkonvention korrigiert als x.y.z (fixed) dargestellt.

Infos zur obigen Tabelle

• Beginnend mit MFU SE 7.4.0 werden die MFU internen Funktionsgeneratoren (seitens der Abteilung ACO) über die Interface Card nicht mehr unterstützt. Daher ist die Verwendung einer SCU notwendig.
• Die SCU wird von allen FW-Ständen der MFU LE/SE/LWL unterstützt.
• Die NIOS SW ist abwärtskompartibel, d.h. neuste NIOS SW ist auch immer auf älterer MFU LE/SE/LWL Firmware lauffähig.
• Umgekehrt benötigt die MFU SE FW 7.5.x mindestens die Nios SW 7.4 oder neuer.
• Die MFU SE FW ab Version 7.5.x erfordert, dass auch die FW des ADCs auf mindestens 7.1.x und die des TFTs ebenfalls auf mindestens 7.1.x gesetzt wird.
• Die MFU LWL 7.0.x benötigt mindestens Nios SW 7.00800.
• Die ICM FW 7.6.x benötigt mindestens die MFU FW 7.5.3.

Für den Service ist es empfehlenswert beim Austausch eines Moduls dieses durch ein neues Modul mit der selben FW zu ersetzen.
Sollte stattdessen ein Modul mit neuerer FW verwendet werden, muss mittels PowerConfigAdvanced und der zugehörigen Gerätekonfigurationsdatei (.xpc7) die Konfiguration des betroffenen Moduls auf die neue, höhere FW migriert werden.
Andernfalls kann nicht ausgeschlossen werden, dass es zu Problemen mit Parametern und Funktionalitäten kommt.

Interaction of the previous firmware (FW) and software (SW) versions of version 7.

In theory, all firmware / software versions should be compatible with one another.
Only new functions are not available in older firmware versions or are not fully or incorrectly supported.

Information on the table above

• Starting with MFU SE 7.4.0, the MFU internal function generators are no longer supported (from the ACO department) via the interface card. Therefore, the use of an SCU is necessary.
• The SCU is supported by all firmware versions of the MFU LE/SE/LWL.
• The NIOS SW is backward compatible, i.e. the latest NIOS SW can always run on older MFU LE/SE/LWL firmware.
• Conversely, the MFU SE FW 7.5.x requires at least Nios SW 7.4 or newer.
• The MFU SE FW from version 7.5.x requires that the FW of the ADC is also set to at least 7.1.x and that of the TFT is also set to at least 7.1.x.
• The MFU LWL 7.0.x requires at least the Nios SW 7.00800.
• The ICM FW 7.6.x requires at least the MFU FW 7.5.3.

For service, it is advisable to replace a module with a new one with the same firmware.
If a module with a newer FW is used instead, the configuration of the affected module must be migrated to the new, higher FW using PowerConfigAdvanced and the associated device configuration file (.xpc7).
Otherwise it cannot be ruled out that there will be problems with parameters and functions.
