ACU Firmware Release Notes

Refer to ACUFirmwareChangeLog for further version information.

40x Interlocks - All versions up to 7.0.2 (and also PCA up to 7.5.0)
  • Due to an error in both PCA and FW, it is not possible to mask the interlock inputs 21 to 40.
If one of these interlock inputs is masked, this is ignored by the HW.
This problem will be fixed in newer versions of the 40x interlocks firmware and PCA.
Please note that both the FW and PCA cause the problem and therefore both have to be set to the latest version.

    Workaround
If maskable interlocks are needed, use interlocks 1 through 20.

ADC DAC IO Ver. II - All versions up to 7.1.0
  • The internal function generator outputs a faulty duty cycle if different time bases are selected for the retention period of FlatTop and FlatBottom.
This problem will be fixed in newer versions of the ADC DAC IO Ver. II firmware.
    Workaround
When setting in PowerConfigAdvanced, select the same time base for FlatTop and FlatBottom.

MFU SE and MFU LE - All versions up to now
  • Due to a problem in the internal rudimentary function generator of the MFU, the ramps created with it are sometimes highly inaccurate depending on the settings.
Further information can be found here.
    Workaround
If possible, use long rise times for ramps, which increases accuracy.
    Outlook
In the future, it should be possible to use the quadratic accumulating main function generators of the MFU.

MFU SE and MFU LE - All versions up to 7.5.2
  • It is possible that new modules or modules with new firmware are not recognized by the MFU.
The founded reason is the length of the MDS (Module Description Structire). The MFU checksum decoder can only process a maximum of 1000 bytes; beyond that there is an overflow.
Due to a large number of FSPs (registers), new firmware can have an MDS of more than 1000 bytes. This means that the module is not correctly recognized.
    Workaround/Solution
If possible, update the MFU firmware to a new version. This will fix the problem.

MFU SE - All versions up to 7.4.0
  • The internal function generator outputs a faulty duty cycle if different time bases are selected for the retention period of FlatTop and FlatBottom.
This problem will be fixed in newer versions of the MFU SE firmware.
    Workaround
When setting in PowerConfigAdvanced, select the same time base for FlatTop and FlatBottom.

MFU LE - All versions up to 7.0.2
  • The internal function generator outputs a faulty duty cycle if different time bases are selected for the retention period of FlatTop and FlatBottom.
This problem will be fixed in newer versions of the MFU LE firmware.
    Workaround
When setting in PowerConfigAdvanced, select the same time base for FlatTop and FlatBottom.
